Cozy Restaurant Covered Bridge

The Cozy Restaurant Covered Bridge has been relocated to Brightwell Crossing housing community in Poolesville, MD., Montgomery County. The Restaurant was closed in 2014 and has been dismantled. The bridge had previously been removed from the restaurant entrance around 2008 and was replaced with an unenclosed, white painted, lattice bridge or trellis. Cozy Restaurant was the oldest restaurant in Thurmont. The covered bridge and a waterwheel were added in 1967. Cozy Restaurant loaned the bridge for various parades in Frederick County in the 1990s. Eventually, the bridge ended up residing at the corner of Moser Road and Route 806 across from the restaurant until about 2010. Above photo taken 1980, below taken 2008.
