Preston's Mill Covered Bridge was one of many that crossed Deer Creek in Harford County. The covered bridge and Preston's Mill are described on page 27 of Harford Historical Bulletin #79 from the Historical Society of Harford County, published in 1999; "Preston's Bridge....former covered bridge near Rocks." Also, "Preston's Mill...Old mill and ford; north of Rocks of Deer Creek & the old bridge on the road to Cherry Hill."
C. Milton Wright mentions covered bridges over Deer Creek in Our Harford Heritage, A History of Harford County, Maryland; "The writer remembers several of these quaint bridges from 1885 to 1920, spanning the stream in such places as the R.N. Wiley Ivory Mill, the Red Bridge near Stansbury Mill, Preston's Bridge near Rocks, and Wilson's Bridge near Harmony Church. In the 1900s iron bridges began to take their place, and by 1950 every covered bridge over Deer Creek had disappeared."
