Red Covered Bridge

COUNTY WORLD GUIDE # CROSSES TRUSS SPANS LENGTH BUILT GONE
Harford MD-12-05x Deer Creek Unk 1 67' Unk Approx 1949
Red Covered Bridge was located near Eden's Mill, formerly Stansbury Mill, in Harford County. A concrete bridge on Fawn Grove Road near Red Bridge Road, now serves as the crossing over Deer Creek near where Red Covered Bridge once stood. The area at Eden's Mill is now a recreational park.
The Baltimore Sunpapers reported in 1937 that Red Bridge had a galvanized roof and at that time was one of only a few covered bridges remaining in Harford County. John Poteet, a Maryland covered bridge enthusiast, noted in his bridge documents that Red bridge was 67 feet long, still standing as of October 1948, but gone by January 1, 1950. An article in the Aegis on July 1, 1982 said that "Red Bridge was one of the last few standing in Harford County in the last quarter century."
